Somluk Pantiboon, born in 1957 in Chiang Rai where he still resides, is a distinguished artist known for his fusion of ceramics and painting, deeply influenced by Zen Buddhist ideology. His art, characterized by the use of native soil and eclectic colors, has been shaped by diverse experiences, including teaching art to refugees under the UNHCR and studying Japanese pottery. These influences culminate in his award-winning work, recognized at the ASIAN Art & Crafts Exhibition and in New Zealand. Returning to Chiang Rai, Pantiboon founded the "Doi Din Daeng" pottery studio, creating a vibrant artistic community and leading him to become the first president of Art Bridge, Chiang Rai, further cementing his influential role in the region's cultural landscape.
